Big Brother Supporting Character Xavier Was Evicted Last Night and People Have Some Feelings
Last night's lockdown episode of Big Brother ended with the house saying goodbye to "silent assassin" Xavier Molyneux. Having started out as "that blonde guy in the background", Xavier ended up being a key player in the most strategic group in the house, the so-called "alphas".
The contestants were placed into COVID-19 lockdown at the start of the episode, with host Sonia Kruger telling viewers that a crew member was being tested for coronavirus. Big Brother notified the housemates about what was happening in the outside world and that the game would be put on hold pending the results of the test.
When the game started again after two days, the housemates were thrust into a Musical Chairs-style Nomination Challenge. Winner Chad Hurst nominated three players, including his ally, Sarah McDougal, who, after finding a Big Brother eye in an earlier task, had the power to remove herself from eviction. In an effort to upend the "alpha" group, Chad also nominated besties Casey Mazzucchelli and the ill-fated Xavier.
Our favourite background castmate was evicted in a landslide, which shows that everyone was definitely voting with their heads and not their hearts.
Xavier reflected on his time in the house on Instagram, thanking "everyone who brought it all together and for the opportunity of a lifetime!"
Take a look at people's mixed reactions to Xavier's eviction last night, from stans and critics alike:
