Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Can’t Stop Smiling at Each Other at Cannes

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are serious contenders for the cutest couple on the Cannes red carpet. The two stepped out together for the May 23 premiere of “Asteroid City” at the 2023 film festival, laughing and embracing on the carpet prior to the event. The couple of over six years looked more smitten than ever, with Johansson putting her hand on Jost’s cheek and sweetly adjusting his tuxedo. Jost came in support of Johansson’s role in Wes Anderson’s latest film, which also stars Tom Hanks, Steve Carell, and Margot Robbie.

While Johansson and Jost started dating in 2017, they’ve actually known each other since meeting on “Saturday Night Live” in 2006. “The first time she hosted was the first year I was a writer on the show,” Jost previously told People. “So, we’ve kind of known each other since then . . . she’s the best.” After months of dating rumors starting in May 2017, the two finally made their relationship public at the American Museum of Natural History Gala in November 2017. Johansson and Jost got married in October 2020 and welcomed a baby boy named Cosmo in August 2021.

Johansson spoke more about her dating history in an April 18 episode of Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” podcast, saying her relationship with Jost really thrived once she recognized her own needs. “I would never have probably been ready for a relationship like the one that I have with Colin [now] at different times in my life because I wasn’t comfortable setting my own boundaries,” she said. After realizing the things she really needed from a partner, she was able to date with a clearer perspective. “That’s why it finally worked with Colin and I at that time: I was finally able to step back and actually respect myself enough to know what those things were and be OK with it.”
