Simon Pryce, the Red Wiggle, revealed on Sunday that he and his wife, FHIT creator Lauren Hannaford, are expecting their first child.
Sharing the news to Instagram, Simon wrote: "Lauren and I are beyond excited and overjoyed to be expecting our first baby in early 2021. 👶🏼 I already feel like I'm bursting with love. 🥰
"I think @lozhannaford will be happy when it's born so I stop talking to her stomach, especially when we are in the supermarket aisle. 😆
"Happy Father's Day to me. Well not quite yet but soon. ❤️ ."
Lauren shared her own announcement post, saying she and Simon were "thrilled and grateful to be expecting [their] first bundle of joy in early 2021. 👶🏼🥰".
"We love you so much already little one and seeing the excitement pouring out of @simon_wiggle absolutely melts my heart. ❤️," she added.
"From the amount that you are moving around in there, it feels like we have a little gymnast on our hands.
"We can't wait to meet you. 😘"
Simon gushed about what a great mum Lauren would be on her post: "You are going to be the best Mum ever. I hope our baby gets your looks, your sporting ability and your intelligence.😆😘Love you. ❤️."
The news was celebrated by a slew of Australian celebrities, like House Rules judge and interior designer Kyly Clarke, Purple Wiggle Lachy Gillespie, radio host Michael "Wippa" Wipfli, and actor and singer Justine Clarke.
Simon, who replaced original Red Wiggle Murray Cook in 2013, is believed by many to be the Puppet on The Masked Singer. While his vocals are definitely impressive (and parents of Wiggles fans say they'd know that voice anywhere), people have found it hard to get past his chilling costume.
Congratulations Simon and Lauren!
