“Stranger Things”: Everything We Know About the Final Season

After three long years, “Stranger Things” is finally back, with season four arriving in two separate halves this summer. As excited as we are to finally pick up the story again, we can’t help but feel a little sad, as season four will serve as the second-to-last season of the entire series. Although the upcoming fifth season will be the final installment in the Netflix sci-fi hit, there’s still some time left to spend with Eleven, Mike, Hopper, Joyce, and all our favourite Hawkins pals.

So what can we expect from the fifth and final season? As usual, the creative team is keeping their plans top-secret, but there’s still a few nuggets of information that have been announced. As we wait for more news, take a look at what we know so far about “Stranger Things” season five.

When Will Stranger Things Show Season 5 Premiere?

There hasn’t been a confirmed premiere date for the fifth and final season of “Stranger Things.” Season four is split into two halves, with the first batch arriving May 24 and the second half on July 1. According to The Hollywood Reporter, filming on the fifth season hasn’t started as of early 2022, so it’s likely begin some time later in the year, or maybe 2023. However, if the release of season five is like any of the other previous installments (minus season two), we can maybe see a summer debut in the next year or two.

Who Is in the Stranger Things Season 5 Cast?

The exact cast for season five will, of course, depend on what happens in the upcoming fourth season. It’s entirely possible that the cast will add or lose people before the final season gets underway. For now, though, it’s likely that the core cast will all return in some capacity, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke.

What Will Happen in Stranger Things Season 5?

Details about the final season are being kept tightly under wraps, but creators Matt and Ross Duffer know where they’re headed. “Once we actually really sit down and write down that final season anything could change,” Ross said to SFX Magazine. Matt added, “But I doubt the ending ending is going to change…It’s conceivable that it changes but I think it’s unlikely because it’s one of those endings that just feels, and always felt, right, and it also feel sort of inevitable.”
