A Tree Change Is on the Horizon as The Block Moves to the Bush in 2022

Channel 9

Can you believe that the upcoming season of The Block will be its 18th?Nine has announced what fans can expect from the series in 2022, and it’s shaping up to be a good one.

The popular renovation show will be returning sometime this year, and this time, they’re heading to the bush. The Block: Tree Change will see the blockheads transform a set of houses in the country from drab to fab.

The concept has never been done before and we can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Scott Cam will be returning as host and for the first time ever, will be renovating his own property. It has been confirmed that filming is currently underway in the picturesque town of Gisborne, in the Macedon Ranges outside Melbourne.

The news was announced at Nine’s 2022 Upfronts last year, and after The Block: Fans vs Faves dominated in the ratings battle, we aren’t surprised about it being renewed for another season.

On September 15 last year, The Block drew in 810K viewers, compared to SAS Australia’s 645K and Making it Australia’s 474K.

This could be credited to the huge cheating scandal which shook things up on the show after it was revealed some of the contestants had a photo of the production schedule since week one.

Nine also announced Shaynna Blaze, who is a judge on The Block, will be getting her own show, Country Home Rescue.

Shaynna and her family will attempt to restore a historical home in regional Victoria, and we already know it’s going to be one heck of a transformation.

The Block: Tree Change is expected to premiere in August this year, with the auction set to take place sometime in November.
