“The Block”, now in its 19th season, takes a trip back in time to the 1950s in Australia. Set in the family-friendly suburb of Hampton East, this season features five houses that the contestants will renovate and transform.

The upcoming season follows the success of the 2022 season which saw Omar and Oz take home the grand prize. The best mates broke records after winning $1.6 million on auction day — including their $100,000 prize money. Now, we’re all eagerly anticipating what’s next for Australia’s favourite reality TV show.

When Does “The Block” 2023 Air?

The new season of “The Block” premieres Sunday, August 6 on Channel 9 and 9Now.

Where Is “The Block” 2023 Located?

It’s time to pack your bags and head to Melbourne’s Bayside suburb of Hampton East because that’s where the new season will be taking place! Channel 9 has purchased five classic brick homes on Charming Street.

The contestants will be tasked with turning them into stunning homes that will be auctioned off at the end of the show. And, let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned renovation project?

Who are the Judges?

Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer, and Neale Whitaker are all back to judge “The Block”. But there’s a fresh face joining the gang after a decade. Joining them is Marty Fox, the CEO of WHITEFOX and a real estate guru who has previously made appearances on the show.

Fans might remember Marty for his impressive sales of Harry and Tash’s home in Brighton in 2020 and Rachel and Ryan’s house in Gisborne in 2022. Marty’s expertise and no-nonsense approach are sure to shake things up on “The Block”.

However, Neale Whitaker will be taking a step back. Neale revealed that he’s prioritising his family for the 2023 season. Earlier this year, his partner of 20 years, David, faced some serious health issues. The judge wants to spend more time at home supporting him. While Neale won’t be present for every episode, he will still share judging duties with Marty on Sunday nights.

Similarly, you can expect to see co-hosts Scott Cam, Shelly Craft, and foremen Keith Schleiger and Dan Reilly.

Firefighter Kyle, 36, and teaching aide Leslie, 34, – parents from WA
First aid officer Leah, 32, and builder Ash, 38, – parents from QLD
Project manager Kristy, 34, and safety officer Brett, 34, – couple from SA
Architect Steph, 27, and start-up worker Gian, 27, – couple from NSW

When Will “The Block” 2023 Auction Be?

While the auction date for “The Block” 2023 has not been officially announced, we can expect to see it held in November, just like in previous seasons. The auction is the culmination of the show where the renovated homes are sold to the highest bidder. With the added pressure of a live auction, we can expect to see some nail-biting moments and plenty of drama!
