The Voice Australia 2021: Meet Bella Taylor Smith

Channel 7

We were introduced to her on the first episode of The Voice Australia on Sunday night, as she mesmerised the judges with her stunning rendition of Ave Maria by Beyonce.

23-year-old Bella Taylor Smith managed to get all four judges to spin in their chairs as they desperately wanted her on their team.

In the end, she chose Guy Sebastian to be her coach, after he used one of his two allocated blocks against Jessica Mauboy, to stop her from recruiting Bella.

“I can see that humility; I can see that love for your gift and it is beautiful. There’s no ego in it,” said Guy.

Rita Ora also shared similar sentiments, as she was shellshocked by Bella’s powerful voice.

“I will never, probably ever, forget this audition. Honestly, that was a truly amazing performance,” said Rita.

Keith Urban was also taken aback, describing Bella’s voice as “beautiful.”

“There are things that you’ve been through and I don’t even know what they are yet, but I could hear them, and I could definitely feel them.”

Appearing on Sunrise on Monday morning, Bella revealed she chose Guy to be her mentor after the two bonded over their Christian faith.

“It was nice having that connection with him, it made me feel safe, comfortable and really excited for what is ahead.”
