Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton Are Engaged

Surprise: Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton are getting married! People confirmed the couple’s engagement news on March 17 after the two sparked rumours while attending this year’s BAFTA Awards. The couple was dressed to impress on the red carpet at the London ceremony, with Hiddleston sporting a black tuxedo and Ashton wearing a gorgeous blush pink gown. Neither Hiddleston nor Ashton have issued a statement confirming their engagement yet, but the stunning diamond on the latter’s ring finger might have been their subtle way of sharing the news.

Hiddleston and Ashton reportedly met on the set of 2019 play “Betrayal.” It’s unclear when they officially began dating, but reports state that the two started seeing each other while working on the production. The couple was spotted showing off some PDA last September while vacationing in Spain and they also made their red carpet debut at the Tony Awards later that month.

Hiddleston is known for his role as Loki in the MCU, while Ashton is set to star in the upcoming “Captain Marvel” sequel, “The Marvels” – set to premiere next February. Neither of the actors seem keen on sharing details of their private lives. Hiddleston even spoke about why he chooses not to divulge about his romantic relationships in a 2017 interview with The Telegraph. “Everyone is entitled to a private life,” he said. “I love what I do and I dedicate myself with absolute commitment to making great art and great entertainment, and in my mind I don’t conflict the two. My work is in the public sphere and I have a private life. And those two things are separate.”
