Angel

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off takes a more serialized and adult take on the supernatural world, more in line with Lucifer than with its predecessor’s teen drama genre. Vampire Angel puts together a team of misfits with supernatural expertise to track down demonic threats and deal with his own personal demons along the way.

Constantine

The iconic DC Comics character may not be the devil, but he has no problem making deals with devils and demons. Like Lucifer, Constantine mixes the supernatural with the mystery procedural format, as the antihero exorcist of the title investigates strange happenings tied to the supernatural. As a bonus: although the show was cancelled on NBC in 2015, the character was folded into DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on The CW a couple years later, so his story continues!

Fringe

If you love the paranormal mystery aspects of Lucifer but want a break from the heavenly mythology, Fringe is a great option. The show centers on a possibly mad genius scientist with a very out-there history of research, his sarcastic estranged son, and an FBI agent who brings them in to investigate strange happenings and instead uncovers a universe-shattering conspiracy that’s connected them all for years.

Preacher

Just like on Lucifer, the religious and the dark paranormal collide in Preacher. A hard-drinking preacher goes through a major crisis of faith, just as he finds himself having to deal with a bizarre new power that allows him to literally command people to do his will.

Shadowhunters

Shadowhunters, based on Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments book series, offers a different twist on angel and demon mythology. The show’s protagonists are a group of superhumans who have been chosen by an angel to wage war against demons that threaten to invade our world, all while dealing with an increasingly complex underworld full of other supernatural allies and foes.

Supernatural

One of TV’s longest-running dramas has built its brand on crossing supernatural investigations with a complicated history of heaven and hell, just like Lucifer. Brothers Sam and Dean take up the family mantle of monster hunting, encountering angels, demons, God, and the devil, and every other celestial being you can imagine along the way.

The Vampire Diaries

Lucifer fans will find more morally-ambiguous supernatural beings to love on The Vampire Diaries. Brothers Damon and Stefan have been at odds for a century and a half, but things take an unexpected turn when they return to their hometown and meet an orphaned teenage girl who is an exact doppelganger of the woman they both loved back when they were still human.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

This version of Sabrina has a lot more in common with the dangerous devils of Lucifer than the quirky witches of the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Sabrina Spellman tries to balance her destiny as a powerful witch in the Church of Night with her desire to embrace her mortal life as a normal teenager with her friends and boyfriend. No matter how hard she tries, though, she can’t ignore her supernatural fate.
