You Season 3 Feels So Far Away – Here's What to Watch While You Wait

This past holiday season, Netflix gifted us with arguably the best present we could have asked for: the return of its thriller You. The show follows Joe Goldberg as he uses his “love” for different women to excuse more and more extreme measures . . . including multiple murders. As thrilling as those episodes are, the post-binge slump that follows is intense enough to drag you into Joe-level obsessing. Rewatching Penn Badgley scheme and stalk for the second time just isn’t as exciting. With that in mind, here are 11 shows that have the same dangerous, suspenseful, and comical flair that You does so well.

Dead to Me

Much like You season two, Netflix’s Dead to Me is set in sunny California, which perfectly juxtaposes the dark humour and drama of its plot. The series, about a newly widowed mother sucked into a questionable friendship, also tackles themes of grief and guilt, making it a great new watch for fans.

Pretty Little Liars

While this show is basically a throwback at this point, it’s still a must-watch for fans of suspense shows. This ABC family classic has the right amount of hallway drama and dark, creepy stalking that will have you thinking, Guinevere Beck had it kind of easy – well, at least until the end. Watch as these five best friends navigate the ups and downs of teenage drama all while being stalked by an anonymous person who basically terrorizes them. We promise it’s a fun time.

Killing Eve

Here’s another attractive, charming serial killer to fall in love with. Killing Eve is right up the alley for You fans. If you found yourself rooting for Joe and Love, prepare to feel even more conflicted about Sandra Oh’s Eve and her love interest Villanelle.

Dexter

This Miami-set crime show follows Dexter Morgan as he solves murders and even commits some. Much like Joe Goldberg, Dexter Morgan tries to justify his many murders. Whereas Joe claims to kill out of love, Dexter claims to kill for the greater good.

Riverdale

Inspired by the Archie Comics, this popular CW drama follows the lives of the teenagers in a town seemingly plagued by murder and scandal. Between the intense crime scenes and the steamy love scenes, there’s something in this show for everyone.

Money Heist

This show may not be in English, but that shouldn’t stop you from getting wrapped up in the twisty plot of the Spanish crime series. Watch as eight people with special abilities plan and carry out an elaborate heist under the guidance of a criminal mastermind who goes by The Professor. Much like You, Money Heist involves taking several people hostage, which makes Joe Goldberg’s glass box look like a piece of cake.

The Politician

Netflix’s original show The Politician has just about everything you could want in a show: high-school drama, a mysterious death, an attractive cast, thrilling plot, and the occasional song break. It takes the whodunnit aspect of You to the next level.

Gossip Girl

Can’t get enough of Penn Badgley? Gossip Girl is the perfect way to get your fix. While lonely boy Dan Humphrey does his fair amount of stalking (mostly of Serena van der Woodsen), it’s nothing compared to what Joe Goldberg accomplishes when he puts on that baseball cap. Gossip Girl is less suspenseful than You, but it’s jam-packed with more than enough drama to keep you hooked. Not to mention, watching Penn Badgley obsess over two beautiful blondes is just good content overall.
