Everyone Christina Aguilera Dated Before Finding Love With Fiancé Matthew Rutler

Christina Aguilera has been a force in the music industry ever since she released her 1999 self-titled debut album, which included popular hits like “Genie in a Bottle” and “What a Girl Wants.” She has since released 10 studio albums, including her latest, “Aguilera,” which dropped on May 31, 2022, entirely in Spanish. But aside from Aguilera’s impressive vocal skills and hit-maker career, we’ve also found ourselves enamored by the singer’s love life.
Aguilera’s been in a few major romances, including her current relationship with her fiancé, Matthew D. Rutler, who’s also the father of her youngest child. The two met on the set of “Burlesque” in 2009 and have been together for over a decade. They’ve also taken their time with wedding plans – the duo got engaged in 2014. But a prolonged engagement is definitely not an indication of trouble in paradise for these two.

When: 1999
In the late ’90s, rumors swirled that Aguilera wanted to date Durst after he asked her to be his date to the 2000 Grammy Awards. However, per Rolling Stone, the “Beautiful” singer turned Durst down after her label allegedly insisted she decline the offer.

Jorge Santos
When: 2000-2002
In this relationship, Aguilera mixed business with pleasure, as Santos was one of her backup dancers. Aguilera later revealed that both her songs “Infatuation” and “Underappreciated” were inspired by him, per MTV News. After only two years together, the couple broke up.

Jordan Bratman
When: 2002-2010
After dating for a little over two years, Bratman and Aguilera got engaged in February 2005 and tied the knot in November of the same year. The former couple welcomed their son, Max, on Jan. 12, 2008, but broke things off when Aguilera filed for divorce in October 2010. “Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it,” she told People that year. “When you’re unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer. That’s the last thing I wanted for my son.”

Matthew Rutler
When: 2010-Present
Aguilera started dating Rutler shortly after she filed for divorce from Bratman. The two met on the set of her hit movie “Burlesque,” where Rutler was a production assistant. The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2014 and welcomed their daughter, Summer Rain, in August of that year. They’re still going strong to this day.
Aguilera occasionally shares sweet glimpses of their relationship. In July, she posted a video on Instagram of her, Rutler, and their daughter enjoying the Museum of Ice Cream together. Back in April, she shared an affectionate birthday video in honor of Rutler. “Happy birthday babe, love doing life with you 🤍,” she wrote on Instagram.
More recently, Rutler showed up to support Aguilera during her “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” appearance on Oct. 16. On the show, Aguilera also opened up a bit about their relationship, revealing that she and Rutler enjoy playing tricks on each other now and then. “It’s funny, me and my fiancé, we literally go out of our way to prank each other every year,” she revealed, adding that she once put a life-sized Michael Myers mannequin in her closet. “I set that one up bad that year because he actually – I didn’t scare him quite enough,” she said. “So I have a very special one to surprise him the next time.”
