Kiernan Shipka’s Relationship History Includes Hollywood Royalty

On “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” Kiernan Shipka’s titular character spent a lot of her time torn between two love interests, but we’re sorry to say that the actor never dated either of those costars IRL. However, even though she doesn’t count Gavin Leatherwood and Ross Lynch among her exes (or current love interests), Shipka has been romantically linked to a few other guys over the years. She may have told Seventeen during a November 2018 interview that she was too busy with work to date, but she’s definitely made time for some romance along the way.
In 2019, Shipka was linked to Christian Coppola, a member of the legendary Coppola family, and the pair appeared to be going strong in 2022. However, she was spotted out with John Mayer in both February and November 2022, and both appearances sparked dating rumors – though the pair haven’t been seen together since and never addressed the rumors. Reps for Shipka and Mayer also did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.
Shipka’s career has also been going strong in the past few years. Up next, she’s starring in “Totally Killer” as a girl dealing with a serial killer returning from the past. In 2024, she’ll star in “Twisters” alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell. While not too much is known for certain about her romantic life, it’s very clear that she has a long future in Hollywood.

Charlie Oldman
Shipka was first romantically linked to Gary Oldman’s son Charlie in March 2019 after she was spotted having dinner with him at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, per E! In April 2019, Shipka also accompanied Charlie as his date to a movie premiere in Los Angeles, per Just Jared. Just a day after that, Charlie shared a selfie of him and Kiernan on his Instagram account, which he captioned with a simple heart emoji. Though neither Shipka nor Charlie ever confirmed their relationship status, it seems as though the relationship was short-lived. By July 2019, Shipka was linked to a new man, but it doesn’t seem like there’s any bad blood between the two. After attending Shipka’s 20th birthday party in November 2019, Charlie posted a photobooth pic of him, Shipka, and Shipka’s rumored new BF on IG with the caption, “Choose your fighter. Happy birthday kiki,” and he even added a heart emoji. Gotta love amicable exes!

Christian Coppola
Director Christian Coppola (who’s a “distant relative” of the Hollywood Coppola family) first appeared on Shipka’s Instagra page in April 2019, and awkwardly enough, Shipka’s maybe-then-boyfriend Charlie was also in the pic. However, it wasn’t until the two attended the Fendi show in Rome together in July 2019 that romance rumors started flying – especially after Shipka posted a pic on Instagram from the event captioned, “MY LOVE.” In October of that year, the two donned matching devil costumes for Halloween, and after her 20th birthday party, Shipka even posted a black-and-white photobooth pic of her and Christian with the caption, “I love you.”
Just like with Charlie, Shipka has never confirmed whether or not she was dating Coppola. Despite that, they posted a few more cute couple pics over the course of 2020, and they became dog parents in 2021. Shipka shared the most recent photo of the pair together in July 2022, and it’s unclear if they’re currently together.

John Mayer
Shipka and Mayer were first spotted together at the Tower Bar inside the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles in February 2022. They were then seen at the restaurant Giorgio Baldi in Hollywood in November 2022. Sources told Entertainment Tonight that the dinner lasted around four hours, and Mayer was reportedly even serenading Shipka. The sightings drew some ire, as Shipka is 23 while Mayer is 45. The pair haven’t been seen together since.
