Below Deck: Sailing Yacht’s Alli Dore’s Deep Dive into the “Juicy” Storylines From Season 2

Below Deck

If you’re hankering for a “juicy” season of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht, then you’re in luck, because third stew, Alli Dore, said this is “edge of your seat” stuff.

In an interview with POPSUGAR Australia, Dore revealed that while the crew were there to work hard, they could also play even harder.

“One thing we all had in common in our career was that we work really, really hard but we play hard too,” the 32-year-old said.

“We were all like this anomaly, where we could just wake up the next morning and were just like, ‘bang’, onto it. Like starting our day, no complaining. We just got on with it. But it was like the kiss of death because you can just go so wild.”

Like we’re already starting to see for ourselves, this sailing crew is ready to bring the drama — and coming up next, Dore is in the thick of it.

In a sneak peek of episode four, Dore and her fellow yachties are seen having a very good time in the hot tub. There’s making out, serious flirtation and alcohol-induced yelling.

“I’m even sitting on the edge of my seat frozen from what I’ve seen so far,” Dore said. “I’m like, ‘No way. We said that?’ We were just doing our thing and living our best life!”

Going on a reality show was not something Dore ever saw for herself, and was cherry picked by producers who found her through one of her Instagram accounts.

“I had watched Below Deck and I was a superfan,” she said. “I went through the casting process and one of the main reasons I wanted to go on the show was for the experience. I mean the tips are great, but I really just wanted to go on for the experience. To me, it was something that I would never have the opportunity to do again in my life and I’m so glad I did because I had the best time.”

The second season of Below Deck: Sailing Yacht was filmed back in August/September of 2020 when most of Australia was beginning to ease restrictions for the first time, however in the Mediterranean, it was a totally different story.

The end of the third episode saw a cliffhanger with the crew in doubt whether they were going to be sent packing after a passenger came down with a high fever onboard. While it’s pretty safe to say we have a whole season to enjoy ahead of us, Dore said it was “quite scary”.

“I came from that [Australia] and then jumped into working,” Dore said. “It was already a really bizarre experience knowing what’s going on in the world and we had such a tight bubble with really strict safety protocols and having something slip through the cracks was still a potential possibility.

“It was quite scary and if our charter was to be shut down, that’s the whole season done. It was a pretty surreal experience and it’s definitely something I had never been through before.”
