Amy Poehler Won’t Be Hosting Australia’s Making It — But We Have Some Pretty Great Substitutes
US comedians Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman have been at the helm of US crafting show Making It for two seasons.
But now that it is coming to our shores, the pair — who are also executive producers of the series — won’t be coming down to host our local version, leaving some pretty big shoes to fill.
Luckily, we have some epic talent in this country and taking over from the pair are The Project Host, Susie Youseff, and comedian Harley Breen.
According to Network Ten, Youssef, who is also a writer and actor, is ready to “cheer on our makers, who will be crafting so hard, they sweat glitter” and having seen all episodes of the US version — all we can say, is it’s awesome!
“I feel ecstatic to be working on a show that is going to bring so much joy to everyone who sees it,” Youseff saif in a statement.
“I feel pumped that we’re showcasing some kick-arse creative geniuses from all over the country and I feel ridiculously short standing next to Harley Breen but, for this show, I’m ok with that.”
Award-winning comedian, television host and radio personality, Breen, is ready to live the wood life and put an Aussie spin on the international crafting sensation.
The father-of-three knows he’s got what it takes to host, as #dadlyfe sees him doing craft on the daily.
“In addition to craft time with my kids, for as long as I’ve been able to, I’ve wanted to be in my shed making things that could otherwise be purchased but not appreciated,” he said in a statement.
“I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to host a show of this magnitude alongside my very talented friend Susie Youssef, and truly love the idea and subject matter.”
Making It Australia is the heart-felt and quirky new series that brings together Australia’s most talented ‘makers’ to showcase their artistic genius — and with incredible woodworking, paper crafting, pottery, carving and crocheting, you’re really going to want to watch it.
Making It Australia is coming soon to Network 10.
