One of the biggest ongoing mysteries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to do with the Avengers Tower, which was formerly known as Stark Tower before the team of heroes turned it into their headquarters. In “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” we learn Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, sold the Manhattan building once the Avengers moved to a new base in upstate New York. However, despite the many movies and TV shows that have come since then, the MCU has yet to disclose the identity of the buyer.

When “Hawkeye” premiered on Disney+ in Nov. 2021, Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), brought the topic up again to Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), who is set to take on the Hawkeye mantle next. During the second episode of the series, Kate asks Clint if they can hide out at Avengers Tower while running from the Tracksuit Mafia. Clint tells her they can’t because Tony sold the building a few years back, but he doesn’t reveal who bought it from him – prolonging the mystery. So, of course, the identity of the buyer has kept fans curious and searching for any and all Easter eggs for insight.

So, who owns Avengers Tower now? Here are the most popular theories.
