Now That Zendaya and Tom Holland Are Finally Dating, Let's Look Back at How They Got Here

Zendaya and Tom Holland first met after they were both cast in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Shortly after, rumours began swirling that the two were dating. “They started seeing each other while they were filming Spider-Man,” a source told People at the time. “They’ve been super careful to keep it private and out of the public eye but they’ve gone on vacations with each other and try and spend as much time as possible with one another.”

However, Zendaya later shut down the reports on Twitter, writing, “Wait wait…my favourite is when it says we go on vacations together HA! I haven’t been on a vacation in years!” To which Tom jokingly replied, “@Zendaya Does the press tour count?”

Zendaya later doubled down on her comments in an interview with Variety, saying she and Tom were just friends. “He’s a great dude. He’s literally one of my best friends,” she said. “This past how many months we’ve had to do press tours together. There’s very few people that will understand what that’s like at 20 years old.”

When Zendaya turned heads at the 2018 Met Gala, Tom made sure to give his friend a shout out on Instagram. “All hail the queen,” he wrote alongside a photo of Zendaya. “Killing it mate 🙌🏻.”

As the romance rumours between Zendaya and Tom fizzled out, Zendaya began dating her Euphoria costar Jacob Elordi. The two dated for about a year before they called it quits and Jacob moved on with Kaia Gerber.

Fast-forward to today, and it looks like the romance rumours may actually be true this time around. In July, the pair were spotted making out in Tom’s car while stopped at a red light in Los Angeles. Neither Tom nor Zendaya have publicly addressed the status of their relationship, but the photos clearly speak for themselves.
