As the final film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 3, Spider-Man: Far From Home has a lot to live up to. Peter Parker and his friends are giving fans their first look at the world after the Avengers finally thwarted Thanos and said goodbye to a few of their members, including Peter's own mentor Tony Stark. Thankfully, the film exceeds expectations with a delightful combination of an awkwardly sweet teen rom-com and the typical Marvel madness that we know and love. But where the film really lives up to the Marvel standard is with its two postcredits scene — yes, there is double the fun in this Spider-Man film.
Now, we don't want to spoil any of the juicy surprises that either postcredits scene holds for fans, but we do want to ensure that you're staying in your seat long enough to catch them both. The first scene turns up pretty quickly and serves as the movie's midcredits scene. The second is at the very end, occurring after the long scroll of names highlighting everyone who's worked on making Spider-Man's European adventure come to life. We are not exaggerating when we say both of these scenes are pivotal viewing for any Marvel fan. While one is more lighthearted than the other, they both give major clues to what the future of the MCU has in store for us.
It's also important to watch them because Far From Home will be the last Marvel movie we get for a while. Barring any changes in release dates (which happens to Marvel movies quite a bit), the first film of Phase 4 won't be premiering until May 1, 2020. And when you take into consideration the movies that have been announced and how far along in production they are, that release is probably going to be Black Widow, which shows us Black Widow's origin story. Since Natasha met her end in Engdame and doesn't factor into the rest of the Marvel movies, that means the next film might not even figure into the present timeline at all!
So make sure you don't miss those end credits scenes, fans. It may be a while before we dive back into Marvel's present timeline and find out what happens next.
