Flower

Starring Zoey Deutch, this dramedy tells the story of Erica, a rebellious 17-year-old who develops an unexpected friendship with her mom’s boyfriend’s son, Luke, who recently got out of rehab. She welcomes Luke into her crew, and he reluctantly joins her scheme to expose a teacher’s dark secret.

Beach Rats

Beach Rats tells the story of Frankie, a troubled teen living in Brooklyn and spending his summer having fun with friends, flirting with girls, and chatting with older men online. His double life reaches a fever pitch when he starts visiting a nearby cruising beach for hookups while simultaneously starting a relationship with a woman, and you could say that things get just a little bit complicated.

F the Prom

In this flick, two former BFFs – one of who ditched the other when she became popular – are reunited after the queen bee is dumped by her boyfriend. Feeling embittered and lonely, Maddy reaches out to her old friend, and she and Cole hatch a plan to destroy prom.

Skate Kitchen

This drama follows the story of 18-year-old Camille, a shy skateboarder who joins a female skating collective in NYC (despite promising her mom she wouldn’t skate anymore following an injury). Of course, it isn’t long before her double life catches up to her.

This ’80s cult classic is your typical high school mean-girl flick – well, except for the fact that new student J.D. is slowly killing off the girls he doesn’t like. Miss Stevens

If a 2016 coming-of-age film centered around a teacher (American Horror Story queen Lily Rabe) doesn’t exactly pique your interests, what if I told you one of her students was played by Timothée Chalamet? Anthony Quintal and Riverdale‘s Lili Reinhart also star in this dramedy, which has a shockingly high Rotten Tomatoes score for a film that went largely under the radar upon its release.

Big Time Adolescence

This coming-of-age comedy revolves around the unlikely friendship between a no-nonsense teen named Mo (played by Tall Girl‘s Griffin Gluck) and a drug-dealing college dropout named Zeke (played by Pete Davidson). Though Mo initially looks to Zeke as a mentor, Zeke’s influence eventually wreaks havoc on Mo’s life.

Tragedy Girls

Starring Alexandra Shipp (aka Storm fron X-Men) and Brianna Hildebrand from Trinkets, this dark comedy follows two high school seniors who run a true-crime blog together and are eager to get more followers. After capturing a crazed serial killer, the teens come up with the perfect way to boost their site’s traffic: continue the killer’s murder spree themselves.

Footloose

This 2011 remake tells the story of Ren, a teen raised in the city who experiences a major culture shock after moving to a small town where dancing and loud music are banned. Hulu also has the 1984 original available to stream.

I Kill Giants

Where Hands Touch

Henry Gamble's Birthday Party

This movie revolves around the 17th birthday of the titular Henry Gamble, an active member of a local church youth group who’s secretly gay. During the course of his birthday party, the preacher’s son wrestles with his sexuality and faith, realizing that he can’t hide the truth about himself for much longer.

Status Update

Set in 1979 Ohio, this sci-fi thriller revolves around a group of young teens (including Elle Fanning and Joel Courtney) as they attempt to make a homemade zombie movie. First Girl I Loved

In this romantic drama, a nerdy yearbook editor named Anne (played by Dylan Gelula, aka Xan from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) finds herself falling for the star of the softball team, Sasha (who’s played by Brianna Hildebrand). Anne’s crush becomes even more complicated after she confesses her growing attraction to Sasha to her best friend Clifton, only for Anne to learn that Clifton is in love with her.

Based on the novel of the same name by Ariel Schrag, this indie comedy tells the story of the titular Adam, a timid high schooler who spends the summer before his senior year of high school in Brooklyn with his cool older sister, who’s part of the LGBTQ activist scene. While accompanying his sister to rallies and bars, he falls for a beautiful new woman who likes him back – but also incorrectly assumes Adam is trans.
