The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has recognised the late, great Chadwick Boseman.

At the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Boseman was honoured with the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in Netflix’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Accepting the award on his behalf was his wife, Taylor Simone, who said:

“He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices.”

Later, Simone added: “I don’t have his words, but we have to take all the moments to celebrate those we love.”

The film hit the streaming platform in December and was Boseman’s final role following his untimely death in August after a private four-year battle with colon cancer. He was 43 years old.

The other nominations in Boseman’s category included Riz Ahmed for Sound of Metal, Anthony Hopkins for The Father, Gary Oldman for Mank, and Tahar Rahim for The Mauritanian.
