The Best Assassin’s Creed Games Are Finally Coming to Switch

Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection
Ubisoft

The Ezio trilogy is coming to the Nintendo Switch, bringing Assassin’s Creed 2, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations to the console for the first time ever in a single bundle. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection is the complete story of Ezio Auditore da Firenze and his journey from a young man to the most legendary leader of the Assassin Brotherhood. The collection also includes all the single-player DLC for the games and the short films Assassin’s Creed Lineage and Assassin’s Creed Embers.

Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection has been specially made for the Switch and includes features like handheld mode, HD Rumble, a touchscreen interface and an optimised HUD. Unfortunately it’s not a remaster, but all three games have held up well and the charm of Renaissance Italy still shines through.

Ezio’s saga begins in Assassin’s Creed 2 as you explore the open world of the Italian Renaissance in an era of art, riches and murderous conspiracy. Brotherhood is set in Rome as Ezio becomes the leader of the entire Brotherhood of Assassins, and in Revelations he walks in the footsteps of his mentor on a journey of discovery in 16th century Constantinople and the heart of the Ottoman Empire.

The collection was originally released for PlayStation and Xbox in 2016, but marks the first time Ezio’s trilogy has been available on the Switch. Up until now, only Assassin’s Creed 3, Assassin’s Creed Rogue and Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag were available on the handheld console. Sadly, the Switch can’t run the recent games in the series, so a PC, Xbox or PlayStation are still the only ways to experience Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and its upcoming DLC Dawn of Ragnarök.

The series is known for jumping around between characters and timelines, but the Ezio trilogy helped form the basis of what an Assassin’s Creed game is. Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection will cost $79.95 and you can pre-order the collection from the Ubisoft store ahead of its February 17 release.
