Aje Bring Old School Glamour Back to Australian Fashion Week
The Aje runway set tonight could have easily been mistaken for an ancient monastery. The space, lit solely by a sea of candles, created a holy-like ambiance that certainly set the tone for what was to come. Staying true to the Aje brand, designer friends Adrian Norris and Edwina Robinson offered up yet another glamorous collection that caters to every occasion.
Stealing our attention were avant-garde gowns adorned in beads with undeniable sparkle. Some dresses featured lace heavily gathered around the waist area, making for a dramatic twist, while others defined femininity with billowy bottoms. As the dress hems shortened and the embellishments became less, relaxed shapes and simple linen styles started to appear. Some were kept plain while others were printed with ink spills and etchy scribbles, reinforcing the overall theme of monastic life.
