Why We Can't Wait to See These Bloggers on TV

There's not a fashion girl on the planet who wouldn't happily rifle through the wardrobes of Zanita Whittington, Sara Donaldson, Kate Waterhouse, Margaret Zhang and Mandy Shadforth. Which is why we got pretty excited when the news was announced that a few of our favourite fashion bloggers are about to star in a TV series, Fashion Bloggers. While you won't be able to track the program on free-to-air, those with a Style Channel subscription will get to take a voyeuristic peek into the cool and crazy lifestyle of a fashion blogger.
The show will follow the careers of Sara Donaldson (who you might know better as her blog name, Harper and Harley), Zanita Wittington, Mandy Shadforth (Oracle Fox), Kate Waterhouse and Margaret Zhang (Shine by Three). Sara, who recently quit her full-time job in sales and marketing for accessories brand Mania Mania, will join her fellow fashion bloggers filming the show next month. The series will track each woman as she travels the country — and the world — creating uber-stylish content for their sites.
We caught up with Zanita earlier in the year to chat about her style and how her life has changed since starting her blog: "When I started it was just a community. It felt like everyone was friends with each other. We were all doing it for the love of it. I never dreamed it would end up like this," she explained.
In an increasingly fragmented media environment, Australia boasts some of the most powerful independent content creators in the style space, including Nicole Warne, Jessica Stein and the bloggers set to star in the upcoming series. But with such major followings, it's easy to forget the people behind these big brands in Australian dot com fashion. Nicole is in her early twenties, Margaret Zhang just celebrated her 21st birthday and already they've landed in the middle of a media storm that shows no sign of slowing.
"The girls are all really graceful about it," Zanita said about the pressures of their burgeoning fame, adding, "Nicole has probably had to deal with the most of it, and she has a lot of integrity about the way she works. I don't really think those voices that say those things are worth even listening to. There's a lot of sad people on the internet, and that's how they vent themselves."
While we don't have a premiere date for the new series yet, you can get your fashion fix now by scrolling through some of our favourite Instagrams from Margaret, Sara and Zanita.
