When Camila Cabello arrived on the red carpet for Monday night's MTV Video Music Awards, she could have easily been mistaken for an angel. The 22-year-old singer turned heads in a white cutout Balmain gown with a train that left her floating. In a behind-the-scenes video released by Vogue, which went through Camila's fittings and pre-performance glamming, we see just how much thought went into her Balmain red carpet gown, her pearlescent PatBo performance outfit, and her olive green afterparty look.
"This is my favourite red carpet dress I've ever worn," Camila said of the Olivier Rousteing gown. "It's very romantic, which is kind of where I am in life right now." Ooh la la! Camila might not have arrived at the award show with boyfriend and fellow singer Shawn Mendes, but their relationship definitely had some influence on her outfit choice. Camila practiced her dance moves for her sexy "Señorita" performance with Shawn and some classy fist pumping in her afterparty outfit to prevent all possible "nip slips" or material snafus. (Honestly, this tactic should be required at all dress fittings!)
Camila spoke about how she was switching things up for her afterparty look, as she never opts for loose-fitting outfits. "I love this dress, I actually never wear stuff like this," Camila said.
