The pure genius that is Karl Lagerfeld has done it again! His Spring '11 Chanel show was nothing short of brilliant, reducing some front row guests to tears. Hey, it happens! Staged at the Grand Palais in Paris with a set designed as a formal garden, grey and white marble complete with fountains worked as the perfect backdrop to the impeccably styled collection. Classic tweed, in predominantly black and white and pops of candy Spring colours, was updated via distressing and mini, cropped silhouettes; while bold floral prints were used in breezy Summer separates and floaty chiffon dresses. Unexpected pieces in the way of hot pants, leather and denim made for a totally fresh and modern take on the classic Chanel aesthetic. Every top model imaginable including Stella Tennant, Coco Rocha, Abbey Lee, Karolina Kurkova, Anja Rubik, Erin Wasson, Karlie Kloss and Aussies Julia Nobis and Lauren Brown walked for Monsieur Lagerfeld. Insanely ridic.
