It's So Easy to Be a Chloé Girl For Autumn
There is a relaxed feeling in the air at Chloé for Autumn 2014, from mid heels to slouchy culottes to the most luxe puffers possible. Clare Waight Keller referenced "a raw freshness" in her show notes, which translated to a misty, earthy palette of camel, mauve, ivory and gold. The outerwear was a particular standout – Keller noted a "sweatshirt attitude for unstructured coats" – with a rainbow leopard jacquard, leather padded coats and a shaggy fur that would get anyone noticed.
But since we are discussing one of the top trendsetting houses for accessories, let's dig into the bags. A new hybrid silhouette took to the runway referred to as an "oversized shoulder clutch," which looked like a large soft day clutch snuggled under the arm but held on securely with a thick shoulder strap. Extended zippers and large turnlocks provided a hardware focus. Folded over the knee boots, chunkier low heels and a pump with a delicate strap cutting diagonally across the arch offered a wonderfully walkable base to the looks. Add on a graphic gold necklace and you are good to go.
