Christopher Kane's Collection Will Call Out to Your Inner Party Animal
Christopher Kane has a knack for delivering a high-concept collection that still manages to be full of the kind of clothes we want to wear, and this season was no exception. His Spring 2019 show was entitled "Sex in Nature", and that theme was overt in the sweaters emblazoned with pictures of praying mantises with the slogan "Sexual Cannibalism" but less so in the oily holographic dresses and paneled lace bodices that will be making their way onto a red carpet near you soon. There were tulle petticoats that looked like they were falling off, tongue-in-cheek "horsepower" t-shirts, and skirts and suits with strips of sparkling diamanté adding graphic accents.
Silhouettes were body-conscious, with slinky dresses and formfitting bodices the name of the day, but there was also a distinct '80s vibe to the power suit that opened the show, complete with built-in waspie (well, this was a nature-inspired show). One thing's for sure: the woman who wears this collection will have confidence by the bucketload. See the full collection ahead.
