Diane von Furstenburg's Fall 2010 Fashion Week Show
2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Diane von Furstenberg
You know something big is happening in fashion when even Diane von Furstenburg is presenting more separates and tailored pieces than her trademark wrap dress. I know it's a little to early to make the call, but I'm getting the feeling that the ease and convenience of simply slipping on a dress in the morning is going to be replaced by buttoning up suits and matching statement jackets with shorts, blouses and flirty skirts come next Winter. Get ready to prep your outfit combos, ladies.
DVF played with textures, layering, and prints for her Fall '10 collection, introducing masculine tailoring to her feminine silhouettes. Flirty chiffon dresses, ruffled skirts and sheer blouses were all teamed back with structured blazers, peg-leg trousers and cropped jackets. Slouchy knits and cardigans also featured, as did heavy embellishment and sleek metallics. Mixing feminine fun with masculine power-dressing has never looked so good.
