If you look at what you're wearing right now, can you honestly say you know who made your clothes? It's a question we should be asking ourselves every time we get dressed, but especially during Fashion Revolution week (April 23 to 29).
The global initiative was born in the wake of Rana Plaza's 2013 collapse in Bangladesh, and is aimed at encouraging brands to make ethical changes in the way their clothes are sourced, made and consumed.
As part of the initiative, Australian department store giant David Jones teamed up with four of it's ECA (Ethical Clothing Australia) accredited brands to create a capsule collection. Each piece was made ethically from start to finish in Australia — it's a small but right step towards a more sustainable and socially conscious industry.
