Thought that getting green had to be all about wearing hemp? Nuh-uh! Recycled fashion is a great, sustainable way to update your wardrobe without supporting the mass produced clothing market, and preventing pre-loved threads from ending up as landfill. The Garage Sale Trail is a national initiative taking place this Sunday the 10th, which aims to reignite the fashion recycling system. Vendors clear out their wardrobes whilst making some coin — and buyers can snaffle vintage threads for a steal. Plus the environment gets a kick back too, with sale holders encouraged to donate ten percent of earnings to Keep Australia Beautiful. Vodafone has lent its support by creating an iPhone app that will navigate you though Sunday's shop-a-thon with ease. Clever! With a slew of fashion ambassadors on board, there's sure to be some stylish (and cheap!) buys to be found. Sass & Bide creative director Pip Edwards said, "I am involved in Garage Sale Trail because I love the idea of recycling your old loved and worn bits... as they say “one person's junk is another’s treasure”…There is something most exciting about being part of a national effort to create the biggest garage sale ever!"
