The opening slot on the Fashion Week schedule is hotly contended, and this year it (rightly) belongs to RAFW veterans Nicky and Simone Zimmermann. Zimmermann continually comes up with collections that we want to wear as-soon-as-humanly-possible — Summer drop dates and cold weather be damned. We were able to coerce the designers to give us a snapshot of what we can expect to see at 9 a.m. next Monday morning via their Spring/Summer moodboard. Looks like it will be a return to nature, with neutral colours and natural fabrications prevailing. Picking The Classic Throttle Shop as their venue, the designers felt the "expansive feel and natural light" would complement their "Halcyon Days" collection. Citing memories of Summer holidays gone by as the inspiration of the S/S lineup, we're expecting more of Zimmermann's expertly cut swimwear and ready to wear separates, that will make for some very stylish holiday wardrobes. "There is a focus on natural fabric bases and interesting, earthy textures such as heavily woven silks, silk linens and muslins. Silhouettes are technical in their construction with leather stripping, inserted faggoting, appliqué panels, lace and embroidery adding structure," hinted the designers. Two words from us: Can't wait!
