Get Ready to See Margaret, Sara, Kate, Zanita and Mandy on TV Tonight!
Picture yourself travelling the globe while writing about your passion, checking in at remote locations, dressed head-to-toe in free designer clothes. Sounds like a dream, right? Well, for these five women it's just all part of the job.
Jealous yet? Well just wait for it — there's more.
Sara Donaldson (who you might know better as her blog name, Harper and Harley), Zanita Wittington, Mandy Shadforth (Oracle Fox), Kate Waterhouse and Margaret Zhang (Shine by Three) are five of Australia's most-followed fashion bloggers. And their super-star status is about to catapult, with the news the women have recently landed a TV show, Fashion Bloggers, set to premiere at 8:30 p.m. on the Style Network Wednesday, Oct. 15.
Right now they're busy filming, with the program to follow each woman as she traverses the planet, jetting from fashion week to fashion week and photo-shoot to photo-shoot.
Now you're jealous.
It's an opportunity of a life time for Sara Donaldson, who quit her job in marketing earlier in the year to focus on Harper and Harley full time: "There have been so many amazing moments, but being a part of a TV show is above and beyond anything I could have imagined." Zanita, who has an eye for style and photography, agrees: "Being part of the show is definitely the biggest highlight — and it's still yet to air! Everything about it is totally new to me. Waiting to hear how it's going to be received is thrilling and frightening all at once."
There's not a fashion girl on the planet who wouldn't happily walk a day in the well-heeled shoes of Zanita, Sara, Kate, Margaret and Mandy — be honest, you'd rifle through their wardrobes too if given the chance. Which is why we were keen to see the team film at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney in September, where they styled a a show for the public. And you didn't need a fancy fashion editor job title to attend, $50 did the trick. A fashion show really is an experience like no other — the buzz backstage, the people-watching front row and the anticipation as the lights go down, the music goes up and the first model kicks off the catwalk show, and these lucky ladies get to experience it all the time.
While you won't be able to track the program on free-to-air, those with a Style Channel subscription will get to take a voyeuristic peek into the cool and crazy lifestyle of a fashion blogger. So what exactly can we expect from the program? We chatted with a few of the featured fashion bloggers to find out.
