No Surprise, We Want Everything From J.Crew Fall 2014
J.Crew is always one of the hottest tickets during NYFW because we all want to see what we'll actually be buying next season. And by the looks of the Fall 2014 collection, our closets will be filled with a darker, moodier feeling. Tom Mora, the head of J.Crew women's design, noted that he was inspired by Weimar-era cabarets in Berlin. And that translated to a play on menswear for women — a bow tie with jacquard pants for night, pinstripe stovepipe trousers with a furry tunic for day.
And with patterns developed for the brand, rich florals bloomed on pants and matching pumps. Furry accents turned up on clutches, tops, and scarves that played off satin pajama print dresses and cropped chinos. A new drop-waist dress silhouette popped up in gray wool and jacquard florals that looked fresh. Sophia Webster created all the charming and covetable shoes in the presentation, as well.
