Jason Wu Is Designing a More Affordable Line For Nordstrom
Jason Wu is exploring "the other side of himself" with a new, more affordable line for Nordstrom called Miss Wu. "I always see Jason Wu [the collection] as my aesthetic, my design sensibility," said Wu. "Miss Wu is my personality. It was really fun to explore that facet of who I am — slightly more downtown, and with a more relaxed attitude." While the Wu signature line is more subversive and chic, his junior's collection for Nordstrom highlights girlie mod-era printed shift dresses, floral skirts, and floppy hats inspired by Jane Birkin and Marianne Faithfull. "Those girls had that certain something-something that really felt right for the image of this girl," said Wu. The cost isn't bad either: prices will range range from $195 USD for a top to $795 USD for a leather jacket. The Miss Wu collection is set to debut at Nordstrom stores and online (yay!) in January, but to tide you over until then we suggest you snoop this preview. . .
