For years, years, years, I've struggled to find a term when people ask me to describe my style. My wardrobe is filled with a schizophrenic mix of boho, designer, chain store, classic, sporty and man-style with the odd dash of quirky thrown in. I do however, always get drawn to the resort-side of dressing and have a forever growing selection of printed dresses, K. Jacques sandals and fine, stringy jewellery on high rotation. This is where journalist Julia Chaplin comes in. She coined the term 'gypset' for her book, Gypset Style, and quite frankly, she's hit the fashion nail on the head. Gypset stands for gypsy + jet set and applies to anyone who loves carefree boho-style with a healthy mix of luxe-eclectic cool thrown in. (If I could somehow provide you with a sample of the Gipsy Kings hit, Bamboleo, in the background right now to get you in the mood, I would). Think Talitha Getty, Jade Jagger and the recent Chanel Cruise '11 collection. Catching my vibe? I suggest you add this to your fashion dictionary and grab a kaftan (worn with diamonds), pronto!
