Karen Walker's Runway Revolution
We've had Dion Lee, Zimmermann, Tome, and now Karen Walker is the latest local designer to walk the New York Fashion Week runway for Fall 2014. She was the first Kiwi designer to ever show at NYFW, and for Fall 2014, Walker wanted a revolution. Strutting to the sound of Gil Scott-Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised," Karen Walker's ladies cast aside ideas of "traditional prettiness" with full skirts, boxy frames, and working coats.
And would it be a runway revolution without military pants? Probably not, so Karen Walker threw them into her utilitarian collection. Take a look.
