LA Stylist Lauren Messiah Shows How to Wear The Ladylike Trend à la Scarlett Johansson and Lauren Conrad

LA Stylist Lauren Messiah Talks All Things Ladylike

Lauren has fun dressing Los Angeles’ A-listers, but what she really loves is helping everyday people find their own fashion mojo. “My goal as Westfield’s LA stylist is to teach women how to be influenced by LA’s hottest celebrities without going ‘all Hollywood’. It’s about making those A-list looks work for you." Here she shares her tips on how to work the ladylike trend.

Los Angeles ladies love minimal style the ladylike trend. It's figure flattering, sophisticated, and has that subtle sex appeal that every woman loves to have. The ladylike trend is all about showing off that killer bod (in a tasteful way, of course), looking prim, proper and put together, all while letting your inner Betty Draper shine through. I’m talking floral prints, lace, pearls, gloves, structured bags… the works! Of course with any trend, taking it too literally can make you a prime candidate for the fashion 'don’t' list.  Take inspiration from shows like Mad Men but incorporate it into your own personal style. Keep reading for more styling tips from Lauren!

Hollywood women have nailed this look by embracing some of the ladylike silhouettes that are so hot right now.  Dresses with a nipped in waist are key — whether it be a full-skirted dress or a pencil dress (whichever best suits your body type). These dresses have been a big hit on the red carpet with starlets like Scarlett Johansson and former reality star Lauren Conrad. For a more casual look, try a slim cut pair of trousers paired with a camisole and a classic cardigan adorned with a modern crystal brooch. If brooches aren’t your thing, statement jewellery will be your ticket to completing the look.
