Pretty Meets Punk: Every Runway Look From the Louis Vuitton Spring 2016 Show
With an artistic director like Nicolas Ghesquière as the mastermind behind Louis Vuitton, we knew the Spring '16 collection would be a cut above the rest. The first look — a fairy-floss pink leather jacket with harsh black finishes, set the tone for what was to come: the perfect infusion of masculinity and femininity.
Hand-painted biker skirts gave relaxed knits an edge, and white rouched cotton separates reminiscent of the Victorian era were hardened by harness embellishments and chains. While there were plenty of pastel pieces, there was just enough biker leather to match the count, and it was this balance that found Ghesquière walking the line between pretty and punk.
