Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 New York Fashion Week Show
2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Marc Jacobs
How do you jazz up an evening outfit and keep warm at the same time? Why you throw a fluffy sweater over it, of course! Marc Jacobs has the uncanny ability to add an element of cool to everything he creates, almost as if by accident. Here, for his Fall '10 show, he displayed ladylike pieces in earthy tones which have officially marked the return of unashamed sophistication.
Jacobs sent models down the runway in demure knee-length dresses with sequin details and subtle bow-shaped beading, while floor-length evening gowns were dressed down with chunky knitted jumpers. Textures such as fur and shearling featured on most cover-ups, however tailored suiting and structured separates were kept fuss-free and simple. The accessories, as always, stood out, as kitten-heels and shaggy bags replaced anything oversized or chunky. I've got two words to say about this collection folks: me likey.
