Must Buy: Marie Claire's 200th Edition, Bumper Fashion Issue
Add this to your mag archives people. Marie Claire is celebrating their 200th edition (yes, you read that right — 200!) by dedicating the entire April issue to our favourite topic; Fashion! The style-centric issue hits stands today, and is sure to stand out from the glossy pack thanks to its large format (220mm x 297mm) size and metallic foil cover. We took the opportunity to pick fashion director Jana Pokorny's brain, who divulged her favourite designers, her top A/W '12 trend and the item she's currently lusting over:
- A/W '12 trend that you’re most excited to wear? I am loving all the super tailored crop pants which will translate perfectly to our mild climate.
- The three most influential designers? Marc Jacobs, Miuccia Prada and Nicholas Guesquiere. All of whom push boundaries and who consistently innovate and surprise with their exquisitely executed collections.
- Your three favourite designers? This is hard — I love so many so I have given you five. This list can change from day to day except maybe for Alber Elbaz. Phoebe Philo of Céline for her ability to tap into the need for supremely simple pieces and delivering them in a way which is fresh and completely desirable. Alber Elbaz of Lanvin whose clothes are so beautiful and feminine yet powerful and confident. Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler for their thoroughly modern and super cool aesthetic. Dries Van Noten for the way he melds art and fashion. Raf Simons at Jil Sander for his unique minimalist approach.
- Your must-buy new season item is? The Proenza Schouler oversized quilted jacket (this one, perhaps?)
