Maurie and Eve have made a big impact on the Australian fashion scene in very little time. In three years, their collections have gained local and international acclaim, with each range staying true to their unique design aesthetic. Design trio Kelly Davies, Maya Clemmensen and Scott Davies let us in on their upcoming collection and source of inspiration.
Will you be repeating your sell-out biker boots for Winter?
We won’t be repeating the biker boots, but the response has been so amazing we’ve decided to include a small shoe line in each collection.
What can we expect from Maurie and Eve come Winter 2010?
For Winter 2010 we’ll tap into your base animal instincts. You’ll find strong animalistic roots with leopard print featured throughout - printed flowy batwing tees meet body hugging dresses with shoulders embedded and dangling chain work. For those not weak of heart, the quilted leather mini skirts and strapless dresses add a sharp edge. Our pick for the coming season? The tailored wool pant teamed with a structured jacket.
What’s the one thing every girl should splurge on each season?
SHOES! A killer pair of heels can totally make an outfit.
Do you have a ‘go-to’ source for inspiration, be it for your personal style or collections?
We have so many, I couldn’t begin to start... One that we’re loving now is Tavi – The New Girl In Town. Shes a 13 year old girl with a blog that is off the hook!
Whose celebrity style do you admire and why?
Rachel Zoe is amazing. Her style suits her personality, she has that talent of mixing designer with vintage, bananas!
