There was an obvious oriental flair in Monique Lhuillier's Fall '10 collection, with deep cherry satins and gold embroidery featuring in everything from strapless dresses to sleek coats. Tweed made a suprise appearance in the form of a jacket and skirt suit, while embellished trims jazzed up power-shoulders and detailed neck-lines.
As always, it was the evening dresses which really stood out, with dramatic tulle gowns and tutu-style dresses worthy of a red carpet occasion. I was surprised by the moodiness of this collection, but have to commend Lhuillier's ability to flatter the female form in every silhouette she presents.
