Runway Recap: Myer Spring Summer 2014/2015

Every season the big retail giants, Myer and David Jones, release a first glimpse at each store's offering for the months ahead. David Jones showcased its last week and this week it was Myer's turn to wow us with their Summer edit. As usual, Jennifer Hawkins and Kris Smith led the charge of models which also included Kate Peck and Nicole Trunfio, who walked exclusively for Little Joe. The strongest trend to strut the catwalk was pastels, which perfectly matched the models' hair.
As the lights dimmed and the music got louder, Jennifer Hawkins, in all of her dip-dyed hair glory, opened the show in a colourful Alex Perry dress. The lace frock set the tone for the first part of the showcase — playful, pretty and packed with colour. Colours were blocked at Alex Perry, where most of the silhouettes were pencil-thi, with just a handful of flirty fit-and-flare dresses to break up the curve-hugging shapes. Alex Perry's shoes were white lace booties, adding a tough-girl edge to the outfits. Next came Yeojin Bae with an equally bright lineup of special occasion styles.
