Our 2010 Sugar Award for Best Designer Collaboration Line Goes to Lanvin for H&M!
2010 Best Designer Collaboration Line: Lanvin For H&M
When it comes to high street collaborations, it’s hard to remember one that had as much hype as this year’s Lanvin for H&M. It started with a teaser trailer, leading fashion fans to speculate over who the designer was. Then it was confirmed that Alber Elbaz would be translating “the dream we created we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less.” A super-secretive ad campaign fuelled even more excitement, and when the line finally dropped it launched with a massive runway show, where models included Anna Dello Russo, Dree Hemingway and Pixie Geldof.
Since its launch, Lanvin for H&M frocks have made multiple red carpet appearances, caused a frenzy among fans who want luxury-for-less, and yep, sold out in next to no time. Not bad for a designer who’d originally said he’d never do mass-market! So it only makes sense to award the 2010 Best Designer Collaboration Line to Lanvin for H&M!
