With internationally-based Australian models Sarah Stephens and Tallulah Morton walking the runway, we always knew we were in for a real treat with Rachel Gilbert's debut fashion week show. For Spring/Summer 2010-11, Gilbert treated us to her classic eveningwear with an updated twist. Shapes were sleeker, cut closer to the body and with peek-a-boo cut-out details and colours were stronger, with bright pink standing alongside classic black and silky white.
Standout pieces included a wedding-style white gown with exaggerated ruffles, a sequinned skirt paired back with jewelled gloves, and a white cut-out mini dress Tallulah rocked like it was made for her. In fact, it probably was! This is modern elegance at its best and a more playful alternative to the sometimes serious style of eveningwear. I would have loved to have seen that bright pink cut-out gown at the Logies! Sparkle-licious.
