The Art Gallery of New South Wales provided the perfect locale for this morning's first show, with Lisa Ho reminding us why we look forward to her shows year after year. Classic, well cut, beautifully draped lines were again the basis of her collection, but she fused her signature style with a completely modern take on Spring/Summer dressing. Colour blocking was done to perfection in a contemporary colour palette of coral, pink, mustard, lilac, khaki, nude, dusty blue, grey and plum. Soft silhouettes came courtesy of loose cut tanks and sleek trousers, whilst dresses slunk down the runway in a blur of sophisticated colour combinations and languid silks. Short suits made a return, as did some stellar trouser options in cigarette, wide legged and printed varieties. Inspiration came from a Capri-inspired sojourn:
- Trends: White on white, retro graphic prints, statement trousers and colour blocking.
- Colours: lilac, pink, coral, mustard, grey, white and blue.
- Accessories: Two-tone platform wedges and stilettos, bright chain, beaded and bejewelled necklaces.
- Key Looks: Colour-spliced shirt in blue and mustard with graphic print, Capri trousers, long languid silk sheaths and the colourful, stand out neckpieces.
