Would you like some Spanx with that? Not a question you expect to hear from the runway, but designer Gary Bigeni offered nonetheless. In a partnership which saw drapey, slinky and carefully cut-out separates fall seamlessly across the body with ease, control-underwear suddenly made sense. Tiffany blue, beige, rust and monochrome striped dresses floated down the runway, while breezy outerwear in belted styles kept billowy shapes neat and tidy. From afar, fine knits looked innocent enough, though up close peek-a-boo style back knots showed all was not as it seemed. Classic staples were updated via subtle hard edges, and unabashedly feminine block-coloured dresses, skirts and jackets provided the perfect mix 'n' match base for any wardrobe. If you're looking for a timeless selection of throw-on pieces (which look oh-so perfectly put together), then Gary Bigeni is your one-stop shop. Just don't forget the Spanx.
