Christopher Kane delivered a chic but incredibly unique vision at his A/W parade at London Fashion Week today. Mixing sheer chiffon, moulded plastic trims and heavy woollen crochet, the runway was awash with simple silhouettes made special by memorizing detailing and imaginative fabrication. Sequins sat like fish scales on sheer sheath dresses, zig-zag necklines were finished with perspex rivers of colour and leather was printed with graphic prints — not to dissimilar from your nanna's knee rug. Wearable? Somewhat. Inspired? Most definitely. This is the kind of independent vision that draws the fashion crowd to London Fashion Week every year, and Christopher Kane certainly gave them what they came to see.
