A Black Blazer
How many times have you stood in your room of a morning, clothes strewn everywhere, sweating as the clock ticks closer to 9 a.m.? I for one am very familiar with this feeling. Well, at least I was.
After years of morning meltdowns, I have finally discovered the key to achieving a refined look for work, day-after-day (minus the panic attack). It requires two things: 1) Prep. Never underestimate the power of preparation. Every night before bed, I check the weather for the following day and pick an appropriate outfit in advance — hanging it outside my wardrobe to avoid temptation to change it the next day.
2) Minimise your workwear wardrobe to a small capsule collection — I'm talking 10 pieces. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but a bunch of high-quality, neutral staples that can be mixed and matched together is seriously all you need. Obviously, you can style these key threads back with other trend pieces . . . But the idea is, the less noise, the easier it is to style clean office-ready outfits.
