Spring 2011 New York Fashion Week: Prabal Gurung
2011 Spring New York Fashion Week: Prabal Gurung
When Prabal Gurung designs, you know he's going to churn out a glamorous collection of must-have dresses. Case in point: the black sequined and white origami stunners below. But for Spring '11, the designer also threw in some super sleek suits and separates, validating his all-encompassing talent. The colour scheme started off white, almost hinting at a minimal collection. Then as the looks went on, Prabal flipped a switch; things got bright, as coral, orange, teal, yellow, and red made stand-out appearances. Sexy cuts, amazing details, the most prominent being sequined fringe that swayed as the models walked. But just when things got too hot, they were tempered via sharp blacks and calm beiges, creating a collection that's part bold, part understated, and all beautiful — just what we've come to expect from Prabal!
