The Opening Date For Sydney's Uniqlo Store Has Been Announced
First, it came to Melbourne, then this giant opened doors temporarily in Sydney, with a pop-up store in Pitt Street Mall. Now, we have confirmation that Japanese retailer Uniqlo will be launching a permanent store in the MidCity building, Pitt Street Mall, Sydney, and that it will be open to the public on Thursday, Nov. 13.
Opening in time for Summer, the new Sydney store will showcase the Uniqlo Spring Summer 2014 offering of quality, pared-back basics. Spanning an impressive 1,485 square metres, Uniqlo Sydney will take up the shopping centre's entire first floor with women's, men's, kids' and babies' clothes.
Commenting on the initial announcement in May, Shoichi Miyasaka, CEO of Uniqlo Australia said, "Opening in Sydney was always the next logical expansion across the Australian market."
While it hasn't earned quite the rockstar reputation of Zara and Topshop in Australia, Uniqlo has more than 1,200 stores across the world. The brand is known for luxe-looking basics with super-affordable price tags (think: skinny denim under $30), endless colour options and collaborations with Jil Sander and Suno.
